ESCIENT FIREBALL™ E2-40 MUSIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
FEATURED IN SKYLOFTS AT THE MGM GRAND

-- E2-40 Systems from Escient’s Award-Winning FireBall Line Will Help Provide SKYLOFTS Guests with the Ultimate In-Room Entertainment Experience --

INDIANAPOLIS, IN., January 6, 2005 – The MGM Grand wanted to provide guests with the best of everything in its new Las Vegas SKYLOFTS accommodations, and that’s exactly what they’ll get when it comes to in-room music, thanks in part to the Escient FireBall E2-40 music management systems being installed in each of the 51 new 2-story suites. Escient, a world leader in advanced digital home entertainment solutions, was selected by Bang & Olufsen (the company chosen by the MGM Grand to create the in-room entertainment systems) to provide music management system for the “SKYLOFTS Jukebox,” a customized PC-based music selection system.

Each of the SKYLOFTS will include an Escient FireBall E2-40 Music Management system, which gives users access to a huge selection of CD-quality music stored in the built-in hard-drive, all via an easy-to-use on-screen interface. Using the Escient FireBall E2-40, guests will also be able to view CD cover art, genres, play lists and more. The video interface will be displayed on a 42-inch plasma TV in each SKYLOFTS suite, and the music can be streamed throughout every room. In a seamless integration of advanced audio and video products, guests will be able to control the system through customized remote controls and in wall touch panels designed by Crestron Electronics.

Noted Bernie Sepaniak, president of D&M Holdings’ Rio, ReplayTV, Escient and ACT business units: “The SKYLOFTS at the MGM Grand represent the pinnacle of luxury hotel accommodations, so it’s fitting that each one will be equipped with one of our award-winning FireBall products. By integrating the FireBall E2-40 with state-of-the-art audio/video equipment from Bang & Olufsen, Crestron and others, guests will be able to enjoy a totally integrated and convenient entertainment experience.”
