announcing new and improved third-party control capabilities with major remote control,
audio distribution, and control system products.
INTRODUCING
THE ESCIENT VISION…FEATURING ALL-NEW INTERFACE!
Escient’s 5th-generation Vision Series products are being demonstrated at CEDIA in a
specially created custom home theater environment at Escient’s Booth #100 on the show
floor. The new portfolio of media management products allow users to store movies, music,
and digital photos and instantly enjoy them from any room of the home through the all-new
high definition Escient User Interface. Through a variety of advanced easy-to-use
features, the Escient Vision Series makes it possible for users to watch a DVD on the HD
projector in the theater, listen to music in the bedroom, or view a slideshow of favorite
family photos (complete with an audio soundtrack) on the new HD display in the den.
EFFORTLESS
INTEGRATION WITH THE NEW MARANTZ RC9001
Browse, select, and control Escient music and movie libraries with unmatched ease and
simplicity. The new Marantz RC9001 touch screen remote comes with a pre-programmed module
that provides wireless two-way control along with metadata from any Escient Media Manager
that supports Ethernet control. Even CD and DVD cover art is automatically displayed on
the RC9001 once the IP address of your Escient Media Manager is entered.
BUILT-IN TWO
WAY WITH RTI CONTROLLERS
Escient Media Managers include a custom web interface specifically tailored for the RK3
in-wall controller from RTI Corporation. Using only the IP address of the Escient server,
the RK3 provides a full color two-way interface for the Escient media manager without any
additional programming. Similarly, the RTI K4 in-wall universal control displays the full
color Escient GUI and provides touch panel access to every Escient feature simply by
configuring the K4 with the IP address of the Escient server and connecting it’s
s-video output to the K4. Escient is a member of the RTI Integration Partner Program.
UPDATED
CRESTRON AND AMX GUI
New control and interface capabilities for Crestron and AMX control systems allow powerful
remote control and custom interface designers to control virtually every aspect of Escient
media managers. New features include access to music and movie cover art as well as the
ability to view the media manager’s collection by genre, artist, album, song, cover,
or playlist. Also new is the ability to create, edit, and delete jukebox queues and
playlists.
PLAYS NICE
WITH NILES AND SPEAKERCRAFT
The Escient line of media servers is now compatible with the latest multi-zone audio
distribution systems from Niles and Speakercraft. Escient’s Media Managers can now
interface directly with the Niles ICS and the Speakercraft MZC/MODE systems providing
two-way communication and control functions that enable Escient to be the media server of
choice.
Utilizing the Niles
IM-Server module and IntelliFile3 software, Niles customers can easily and quickly browse,
select, and play any artist, genre, album, or song in their music collection directly from
any of the ICS control devices including the Contact, Display, and Single in-wall keypads
or the handheld Niles iRemote. Niles ICS customers can even browse and play any of the
Fireball’s free Internet Radio streams.
In addition to
integrating with the Niles ICS, the Fireball line of media servers can interface with the
Speakercraft MODE in-wall keypad allowing Speakercraft MODE customers to enjoy the
simplicity of the MODE keypad to access any artist, genre, album, or song in their Escient
Fireball. The Escient Fireball communicates directly with the Speakercraft MZC line of
controllers via two-way RS-232 serial control while the MODE keypads allow customers to
browse, select, and play Fireball content from any room in the home.
All Escient Fireball
media servers which have two-way control capabilities can utilize the new integration
modules. Supported models include the Escient MX, AVX, DVDM, E2, MP, and ZP series media
managers along with Escient’s unique FP-1 Media Manager with Universal Dock for iPod
that integrates an Apple iPod into any home audio system. Additional support for third
party control systems from ADA, AudioAccess, Elan, URC, NetStreams, Opus, RTI, Russound,
Sonance, Xantech, and others are available for free on the Escient support web site.
